This document is Health Canada’s authoritative information document on the potential therapeutic uses and harms of cannabis for medical purposes, and contains important information to assist physicians and other healthcare professionals in their clinical decision-making with respect to cannabis for medical purposes. It has been peer-reviewed by 18 internationally recognized cannabis researchers. The Information for Health Care Professionals: Cannabis and the Cannabinoids document has been significantly updated to reflect advances in the science related to the use of cannabis for medical purposes.
